The fight expands with Dynamic Area Battles!

Dynamic Area Battles

Experience battles that take place in both the sky and on the ground (hereafter High Area and Low Area) with the kind of lightning speed you can only get from Dragon Ball!
Dynamic Area Battles feature new battle mechanics in addition to the existing ones! Read on to learn more!

Extended Battle Area
Dynamic Area Battles have two battle areas: the High Area and the Low Area.
The battle will begin in one of these two areas at random.

Area Change Attacks
Controls: Tap the screen after landing a Tackle or Quick Attack.

Hitting your opponent with this attack will switch the battle area.
If you land one while in the High area, you will move to the Low Area.
If you land one while in the Low Area, you will move to the High Area.

Overdrive Mode
Dynamic Area Battles have the new Overdrive Gauge feature.

Filling the Overdrive Gauge to max will trigger Overdrive Mode.
The Overdrive Gauge is shared between all party members.

The Overdrive Gauge fills when the following occurs:
  • Overcharging
  • Landing an Area Change Attack
  • An enemy hits you with an Arts attack
  • An ally is defeated

Overdrive Mode will grant the following effects:
  • Unlimited Ki
  • Reduced sustained damage

During Overdrive Mode, the gauge will deplete when the following occurs:
  • Time passes
  • An ally's Arts attack lands
  • An Overdrive Attack is activated, fully consuming the gauge
Overdrive Mode ends when the gauge is empty.

Overcharging
Controls: Two methods for activation
1. Charge Ki for a set amount of time to switch to Overcharging
2. Charge Ki when your Ki is at 100 to immediately switch to Overcharging

Overcharging is used to charge the Overdrive Gauge.
Overcharging grants the following effects:
  • Increases the Overdrive Gauge
  • Restores the Vanishing Gauge
  • Nullifies enemy Tap Shots
  • Automatically defends against enemy Tap Attacks, Quick Attacks, and Tackles

Charge Attacks
Controls: While Overcharging, flick up without lifting your finger

This action lets you attack while Overcharging.
You can attack while ignoring the opponent's Tap Actions.
If it lands, you can also follow up with an Arts.
*Follow-up attacks are not possible in every situation.

Overdrive Attacks
Controls: Tap the Overdrive Gauge while in Overdrive Mode

This is a very powerful action that is only available during Overdrive Mode.
When an Overdrive Attack is used, the Overdrive Gauge will become 0 and Overdrive Mode will end.

During an Overdrive Attack, you can choose a combo route and receive additional effects.
Additional effects are as follows:
  • Overdrive Attack damage increase
  • Restore own health
Effects have three levels indicated by the number of arrows—more arrows equals a more powerful effect.
The effects and their levels are random.

If you are on the receiving end of an Overdrive Attack, selecting the same combo route as your opponent will prevent additional effects and reduce the damage you take.

The choices you make during an Overdrive Attack may sometimes change the battle animations, so try them out with different characters!
